Anchor Boat Club is located at 407 East Lake Shore Drive, close to the expressway on Springfield's far southeast side. Food is close by, near the expressway.
Recommended Directions
From Most Directions
Take Interstate 55/72. Take Exit 94 onto Stevenson/East Lake Drive.
Go east (turn left). This will be a left turn whether you are coming from the north or south.
Pass by the city power plant and drive over the Spaulding Dam. The road becomes East Lake Drive and curves around to the right. After a little less than a mile, Anchor Boat Club will be on your right.
From Southeast (Illinois 29 from Taylorville, etc.)
Go northwest on Illinois 29. When you reach Rochester, Ill., turn left (west) on West Main St.
Follow it about 2½ miles until you hit a T-junction at East Lake Drive. Turn right (north). After just under half a mile, Anchor Boat Club will be on your left.
There are many fast-food and sit-down restaurants near the intersection of Stevenson Drive and Dirksen Parkway, just west of the expressway exit. Some of these are in Capital City Shopping Center.
Remember that outside drinks may not be brought into the building.
